Spectacles of Mercury swirl around the Sun


Marefat High School’s Astronomy Organization was spectacled the passing of Mercury around the sun by the cooperation of Afghan Astronomy Organization. However astronomy and cosmology are not being taught in Afghan high schools and universities, but it was new and amazing alliance to Marefat High School students.

All members of Marefat High School Astronomy Organization could see this optical event when Unis Bakhshi the administrator of Afghan Astronomy Organization who has cooperation with Marefat High School’s Astronomy Organization, sat  a telescope on rooftop of Marefat High School.

In every hundred years, Mercury is swirling 14 times around the sun, and it seems to be a black spot on the sun’s surface, said; the administrator of Afghan Astronomy Organization, but on Monday 9th of May, after 3:00 o’clock P.M the weather of Kabul city was windy and stormy and it was hard to see the sky because of this problem, the member of Marefat High School’s Astronomy Organization could see the swirling of Mercury around the sun only for five minutes.

It is just one year from the start of Marefat High School Astronomy Organization activities and it is going on by co – operation of Masuma Yari the Head of Natural sciences Department of Marefat High School.
